Mr. Mamun is leading the Information Security Division for United Commercial Bank Limited which is one of the largest & almost 39 years old first generation bank in Bangladesh. He has over 15 year’s experiences in Information Technology field including more than 11 years hands-on experiences in Information and Cyber Security.
He was one of the key member of Information Security Team in different organizations and successfully implemented several security solutions such as SOC (Security Operation Center), Anti-Advance Persistent Threat & Network Behavior Analysis, Data Leakage/Loss Prevention (DLP), SIEM (Security Information & Event Management), User Behavior Analysis, PAM (Privilege Access Management), Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing tool, etc.
He also developed real-time threat monitoring system, vulnerability assessment tool for mobile applications, phishing simulation tool for user awareness, email log analysis tool, etc. Also having incident management, digital forensic & investigation experiences including conducted IT/Cyber Security awareness training for around 4000 people in different organizations.
Muhammed Abdullah Al Mamun is also a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) Lead Auditor, Certified Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Implementer, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified ITIL® Foundation Certificate v3 in IT Service Management, etc. along with several Information & Cyber Security product related certifications.
Also the fellow of bdSIG 2020-22 & inSIG 2022, member ISOC (Internet Society) Dhaka Chapter in Accessibility Standing Group & Affordable Internet Access SIG, BIGF (Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum), APrIGF (Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum), life member of Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) and Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).

United Commercial Bank Limited has been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001 certification. The announcement was made in a ceremony held at the bank premises. ISO 27001 enables organizations to manage the security of assets such as financial information, intellectual property, employee details, or information entrusted by third parties.
Mr. Suresh Dadlani, President of ControlCase handed over the Memento and ISO 27001 Certificate of Compliance to Mr. Arif Quadri, Managing Director & CEO of UCB at the Corporate Office of the Bank. Additional Managing Director and CRO of UCB Mr. Syed Faridul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and COO of UCB Mr. Md. Abdullah Al Mamoon, Senior Vice President & Head of IT of UCB Mr Kashef Rahman, Mr. Muhammed Abdullah Al Mamun, Head of Information Security, Mr Maruf Alam, Chairman of Cynergon InteliSys Limited, the local partner of ControlCase were present along with other senior officials of both the organizations.
ISO 27001 compliance is not a one-and-done process. Every year all controls and procedures need to be evaluated to remain in compliance. That is why ISO 27001 certification is a demanding standard to maintain. In addition to the ISO 27001 standard, UCB is also a PCI DSS compliant bank.
